As we wrap up our fourth whale watching season, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, and even prouder of our fantastic team who make Whale Tales what it is. From guides to skippers, everyone shares a genuine passion for the ocean and commitment to sustainability.

Every day we are out on the water reminds us of how connected we are to the natural world, and that connection shapes everything we do, from our operations to the guest experiences we create.
Our guide team of marine biologists and conservationists bring the science to life on every trip. Every conversation has the potential to spark change, showing our guests how small choices lead to a healthier planet.
Sustainability at Sea
We’re proud to offer one of Sydney’s most eco-conscious whale-watching experiences. From regular hull cleaning to reduce drag and improve fuel economy to zero overboard discharge policies, sustainability drives every decision we make.
Our skippers monitor fuel use daily to minimise emissions, all liquid waste is pumped out at harbour facilities, and guest waste is recycled. Even our cleaning products are biodegradable. And if a hat goes overboard, our captain circles back, we won’t leave anything behind!

A Finalist Among the Best
The 2025 NSW Tourism Awards saw record nominations, with over 230 entries and 125 finalists across 30 categories. Winners will be announced at the NSW Tourism Gala on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park.
