When a spontaneous Google search at Bali airport led Samantha to us, she had no idea she was about to experience one of the most unforgettable moments of her entire Australia trip. We loved having you on board, Samantha!
How did you first hear about Whale Tales Whale Watching? And what inspired you to book a trip with us?
We were taking a trip to Bali and Australia and were at the airport in Bali waiting for our transfer to Sydney when I googled ‘things to do in Sydney’. Whale watching came up via Google. I looked at a couple of trips and decided on Whale Tales as we fancied the smaller boat, and the family-run scene appealed more to us than the larger boats.
What were your expectations when you first got on board?
If I am honest, before we boarded, we were unsure whether we would see any whales as we were not aware of their migration at this time of year. We didn’t know if this would just be a boat trip experience, but we hoped to get lucky. After getting on board, it was explained about migration, so we were much more hopeful after setting off.
What was your favourite moment during the trip?
Seeing the whales breaching with their young, we had one whale pop up right alongside the boat. At first I thought someone had gone overboard, then I saw the whale and realised the person screaming was with joy!
What surprised you most about your trip with us?
The thing that stayed with me and surprised me the most was the crew’s passion for seeing the whales too. This was not a ‘get bums on seats’ kind of trip. They all had a vested interest in the Whales and were as excited as we were about what we were seeing.
Can you describe your experience in one word:
‘Unforgettable’
Is there anything you’d tell someone thinking about booking a tour?
DO NOT miss this trip. IT IS A MUST. Worth every penny. You will see some unforgettable memories and develop an obsession for seeing the images daily from the social media page of the team. It is definitely an experience I want to repeat!
